We clean our living area and we wash out clothes, we keep our body clean and some of us even cleanse their soul, but what do people usually tend to forget or not forget or even worse, just skip?! Yes, make-up tools! Now this is bad, very bad because we use them daily or at least often, but even worse are the tools we use (nearly) every day, that are in our bags, these don’t get cleaned at all in most cases. There is one thing to say about that: That’s a nasty habit!
Now it’s time to turn that nasty habit into a good habit, clean your tools after every use, there are so many products out there and there are so many DIY potions you can conjure up yourself, you don’t need to reapply gunk and filth back on to your face. This will only make you brake out or worse give you an infection. Well I think most of us know we need to keep our shizzle clean but we just don’t do it, for whatever reasons there may be.
What I do is so easy, I clean the tools I use after I use them with a cleansing spray I made, not just the brushes also my eyelash curler and my eyebrow gel applicator. Just spray it on and dry it off on a sanitary pad, I just use the cheapest I can find. You can use any other fabric as long as it does not shed onto your tools. To be clear about it, tissues and kitchen wipes are bad! Then after every 5 uses I wash them with a cleansing soap I made myself, to make sure they are clean and sanitized deep into the fibers or hairs. If the brushes need more frequent cleaning due to pigmentations of the product used or for whatever other reason, just do so wash them out, it won’t damage your brushes it makes them last even longer.
To dry my brushes I just gently press most of the water out of the hair and I dry of all the water thoroughly from the metal and wood/plastic part of the brush. Don’t leave it wet and don’t let water get into the brush into the metal part, It will dissolve the glue, making your brushes worthless. The ones that fit my Dry ‘n Shape by Sigma go in there, the other brushes I pack in my brush guards and leave it all to dry overnight. I find it takes about 8 to 10 hours, I just don’t like my brushes damp when I use them.
Well that is that and keep it clean!
